Otro Año y Medio de Hundimiento nos Espera

Si esta Gran Depresión II es como la de 1929 aún nos quedan 17 meses de caída continua

La gráfica azul celeste es la de 1929, y se ve que continuó cayendo imparable durante 34 meses.

Las gráficas Verde y la Roja muestran el comportamiento durante la crisis del petróleo de 1973, roja y la crisis de dotcom (la burbuja de internet) en verde.

La gráfica Azul Fuerte es la actual, y ya muestra un gran parecido con la de la Gran Depresión, 1929 y siguientes, todos los ‘30.  Si esta vez el comportamiento es parecido nos quedan todavía 17 meses por sufrir una constante caída.  No estar como ahora, sino estar como no es concebible ahora. Recién se tocaría fondo a finales de 2010.  Y podría comenzar una lenta recuparación que tardaría 20 años en regresar a las condiciones de 2006. 

Es recomendable que se enseñe Ud a plantar papas y boniatos por el método que expliqué hace unos días, porque no habrá empleo, ayudas ni comida.  Va a morir mucha gente de hambre, millones de personas perecerán de hambre, y eso con suerte porque puede ser mucho peor aún.

Simon Heffer is one the many disagreeable Tories who spew their bile in the Torygraph against the European Union, the euro and in general most things in today’s Britain, not the worst country in the world I hasten to say.

As all of the top rank in Toryland this man is totally unqualified to write anything about Europe, about economic matters, about the euro, about politics or the most we’ll grant him, his opinion can not carry more weight than the opinion of any member of the public.   Let see what Wikipedia says of his biography:

Simon James Heffer (born 18 July 1960) is a British journalist, columnist and writer, noted for his right-wing political views. He was educated at King Edward VI Grammar School in Chelmsford and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.

Yeah, sure, Cambridge indeed. ¿ Educated in what?  In English !!! The Englishman went to Cambridge to study English language and literature, [rather easy subjects for an Englishman, if he knows how to read] and now he dares to write about the euro, about economic matters, about the legality of the European courts and other things totally and a long way above his knowledge.

All the Tories are like that, a false front and there’s nothing of substance behind it

The Economist is starting to look less and less like a reliable news magazine [ìn spite of the title it stopped being a magazine about economy long ago] and more and more like an Anonymous Catastrophist Rant Blog, look at the article highlights.

If eastern Europe goes down, it may take the European Union with it

TUMBLING exchange rates, gaping current-account deficits, fearsome foreign-currency borrowings and nasty recessions: these sound like the ingredients of a distant third-world-debt crisis from the 1980s and 1990s. Yet in Europe the mess has been cooked up closer to home, in east European countries, many of them now members of the European Union.

The anonymous author presents a near future of Nazi governments and communist populists.

The political consequences of letting eastern Europe go could be graver still. One of Europe’s greatest feats in the past 20 years was peacefully to reunify the continent after the end of the Soviet empire. Russia is itself in serious economic trouble, but its leaders remain keen to exploit any chance to reassert their influence in the region. Moreover, if the people of eastern Europe felt they had been cut adrift by western Europe, they could fall for populists or nationalists of a kind who have come to power far too often in Europe’s history.

Stopping the rot

A way to stop the rot in Europe, and in the UK for that matter, would be for the British hacks to just shut the fuck up.  They are a bunch of ignorant overpaid fools, the whole lot of them.  The British Press is full of journos, and pretty British journo women too, who have not relevant formal education on these matters and happily write away copying each other, usually they copy the doom articles by Ambrose Evans-Pritchard in the Daily Telegraph.

Uruguay Etanol un Éxito del Gobierno Frenteamplista

ANCAP y ALNUR, su división que fabrica etanol para combustibles nacionales se apuntan un éxito

Fue un compromiso del Frente Amplio y del Presidente Dr. Tabaré Vázquez con los uruguayos impulsar la producción de etanol como combustible, a partir de caña de azúcar plantada en el Departamento de Artigas, en Bella Unión -donde el microclima es relativamente favorable.

Este proceso comenzó hace cuatro años, recuperando para Uruguay el cultivo de caña de azúcar que estaba abandonado.  Al principio se comenzó por producir azúcar para el consumo.  Se les criticaba (no por mi) que ese azúcar ‘era caro’ comparado con el que se puede comprar a Brasil.  Ese criterio economicista es el que ha hundido al Uruguay, pues siguiendo esos criterios el malhadado contador Azzini en los años 60 -y sus continuadores también- desprotegió las producciones nacionales con el resultado de la ruina del Uruguay y la Guerra Civil de los años 70.

Un lento pero continuo proceso productivo para una región empobrecida.
